 Nisin is the off-white powder that can be biodegraded and digested by enzyme in human body. As a vital product of our food additives and food ingredients, Nisin is a high-effective, safe, and non-toxic natural food preservative. Nisin has strong inhibition ability to the majority of gram-positive bacteria, especially for those gram-positive bacteria which can give birth to spores, such as bacillus subtilis and bacillus stearothermophilus. Under certain conditions, such as refrigeration, heating, pH value lowering and EDTA treatment, Nisin can also inhibit the growth of some gram-negative bacteria such as salmonella, escherichia coli, pseudomonas and others.
