Vitamin B6 is a water-soluble compound that was discovered in the 1930s during nutrition studies on rats. As a food additive, Vitamin B6 is an essential food ingredient in our food supply. Of our food additives and food ingredients, Vitamin B6 has won a high reputation in China and foreign countries.
The physiological functions of Vitamin B6:
1. Vitamin B6 is involved in the metabolism of one carbon unit, vitamin B12 and folate. Their metabolic disturbance can cause megaloblastic anemia.
2. The lack of  Vitamin B6 may damage the synthesis of DNA, which is very important for the maintenance of appropriate immune functions.
3. Vitamin B6 has very close relationship with Vitamin B2. The lack of  Vitamin B6 will result in the symptoms of Vitamin B2.
